Another leap forward, pretty soon the computer will control the entire tank.

Now that would be a nice device to have. I hate testing for CA.

Yes i have been waiting for pinpoint to release this item i have heard many good things about it. I will be interested to hear your thoughts. Its 249 but add up salifert test kits over a 1-2 year period it will pay for itself. Just like a calcium reactor. Right now i only can find one site that carrys it. I will talk to the my freind ben the manager of marine depot and see if they plan on carring it. It will probaly be less than 249.00

If it works it will be a leap forward like the availablity of pH monitors and refractometers, its all about valid data

Do you think we'll be seeing any "all-in-one" type devices soon?

IE , Temp + Ph + CA all in once device (preferably one that has either X10 or computer control)?

I've been holding out on buying any of the programable computer linked equipment, just too see what the advances in the technology are going to be. I like the controllers they have now, but I really want one "box" that I can plug all my probes into and control from there.

I like the "Reef Keeper" (one of our sponsers), but I have not purchased one because it only has a temp probe. I was holding out for a model that included a Ph probe, but now I think I'd like to hold out for a model that includes a CA probe as well (if they work).

If anyone orders this PLEASE post back and let us know how it's working!

Man would this be nice!!

A funny thing, I was thinking about starting a thread yeasterday about what I consider to be the only down side to keeping a reef tank, testing. The problem with testing for me is that I am shade blind and have to get my wife to help me see the colors.

I sure do love my Pinpoint PH monitor, I hope the calcium monitor will be as good!

Awsome, absolutly awsome... I love the programming language feature.

Now as soon as they incorporate the CA probe, I'm buying!

Now you know Tom, in the name of research and test markets... I think you should buy one of these CA probes testors for you AND one for me. We need to make sure that they are trully acurate. What good is imperical evidence if not supported by multiple tests from a different location?

interesting, this could be a good thing. long term reliability is what i would be looking for. at least accurate for a year anyway.

ditto on Geoff's comment, I am also concerned about how long the probe will last. Many of the units in use now (pro models around the $1200-$1800 price range) require regular recalibratioin for accurate results, however, this may by ne of those CYA statements that the manufacturer makes (I spoke with a few folks that currently use Roda ISE's for calcium in marine porewater evaluations, their comment was, "clean and calibrate your probe...")

A cost comparison to CA test kits would certainly have to include probe replacement. I know the DO probe for the AquaController Pro runs an unspeakable amount of money. I do badly want the new Pro III, though. I am using an AquaController II and love it.
