just some questions first before i start.. is a 10 gallon to small?.. and if not when i first start this tank im not going to put live sand or rock in it for about 2 - 3 weeks do i still need to do 10% water change every week?? or should i wait and add it a few days after i get salt levels right??

10 gallons is perfect for a nano, I have seen Nanos (no fish of course) that are 2 gallons, I currently have a 7 gallon, I'm not sure but when a tank is cycling (which I think thats what your doing?) yoour not suppossed to do water changes until eveything reads zero

something in there doesn't sound accurate but I most of it is

dont worry a veteran will be here soon..

hope I didn't add to your confusion

sure you can fill it with water, get your salinity and ph stabilized, (with your filter, powerheads, heater going) then add sand or live rock. then from that point wait and test your water. when your ammonia and nitrite spikes and then wanes (back to zero), youre ready to start adding stuff, a little at a time.

there is actually a forum on this board specifically dealing with nano tanks if you want to check out some of the threads there. welcome to the board!
