New Maroon Clown

Got a new juvenille Gold Striped Maroon Clown today, hes about and inch and a half long and has great color. The only problem is that my six line who is about the same sixe as him seem to be beating up on him. I ve turned on the sctinic light only to mellow the six line out, it seem to be working because the maroon has found a hinding spot and the six line has lost interest. IS there anything else i can do?

no but in a few months you will be writing the opposite on how to stop the maroon clownfish from attacking you six line haha.
Trust me the maroon will be just fine they are tough fish!
No more worries about you Maroon Clownfish until he/she gets bigger

He has nipped fins and is hiding behind the heater now but he looks calm at least, not breathing really fast.

Thanks for your input i hope it works out that way haha

I have a six line and a maroon together also. They have a few spats from time to time but the maroon usually ends it when it gets annoyed.

Your Maroon is contemplating what he is going to do to that sixline as soon as he can find a can of spinach. He's not calm, he's plotting.

You did about all that needs to be done. As long as the fish isnt stressed, he will be fine.

Today he came out and the six line once again ripped him up, his fins are really tassled and he has a hole in his dorsal fin. He has since gone back to hiding behind the overflow box. Do u think the six line will ever stop? I put some flake in today and the clown came out to get a few pieces, so at leats hes eating.

I also have a maroon clown and six line. The clown was in the tank about a month before adding the six line. They are both about the same size and to date have not seen them fighting. So, I take it that they really don't get along. The only problem I see is that I had the clown in my 38g for 9 months with a nitrate problem and I think he is not growing. I moved him to my 90g with nitrates under 10ppm. I got the clown at about 1 inch in size and in 10 months he has only grown to about 1 1/2, is this normal growth or should he be bigger? If the six line gets bigger then him think I will have a problem?
