new mantis tank!

my sister middle one had 2 FW tanks one 5 gal hex eclips w/bio wheel and her appartmen complex found out and told her to get rid of the 40 and the 5 some sort of water hazard they said if it needs a filter u cannot have it so she is takeing off the filter on the 40 and adding 3 PH a 501 301 and 801 to keep the water movement and she is makeing 3 bowls for the 5 fish in her 5 gal hex and i got the hex for 25 $ from her. so now i need lighting i want cheap and effictive any ideas?

it all depends on what you want to put in it. if you want to put a mantis in it then any light at all will work. you are just adding the light so you can see the mantis. i would still try and stick with lights above 6500K for algae control, but that is about it.

Pretty much anything will do if all you want is to see something, homedepot might have some stuff, or the sponsors!

ok well do mantis shrimps bother shrooms and other things like that softies in general cuz if he dosent ill make it a shroom tank useing the 13 watt pc that iv heard about.
