new Critter!

Okay...I was staring in my tank (what a surprise..), about a week ago, I saw what looked like a little hermit living in my large piece of live rock! I was like..WOW! I love having a tank for almost a year and STILL finding new things. Well, anyway...I need help id'ing him. I don't know if he is a hermit or a shrimp. He has two identical pinchers, same length, and same size. They are white in color. When he starts to move out, I notice some antannae stick out. I have yet to see his body or face. The fascinating thing to watch is the entrance to his cave, (about the size of a pencil), cause I have actually watched him remove rocks so he can sit at the entrance, and then when he is bored, move the rocks back!! Sealing off his entrance. From what little description I have given, and behavior, can any one toss up some ideas as to what this guy might be? I would take a pic, but when I tried, he is so small, that the picture doesn't reveal anything.

Jeremy, I don't drink - just send money.

Sounds like a pistol shrimp.

If he be a pistol..is he bad? Is he the one that cracks snail shells, and splits fingers?

Well, I just looked up pistol shrimp, and they all say he is fine to have... but I have never heard clicking from the tank, and when I look at pictures, it shows huge fat claws. Mine has narrow thin claws. I know, if he is a baby, then they can grow. But, thoughts, feelings?

Any good sites on the pistol shrimp for me to read on?

To Spanky... $$$$$$$
