new candy coral YAYAYAYAYAYAYA

well i did it. i have been doing research now for months and trying to decide what to buy next. well why i was at the lfs today (taking the son site seeing) i just happen to run across a nice looking candy coral and of coarse my SON (only 2.5 years old) just had to have it (not me ) so i bought it for him. i will post pics later i am still aclamating it (sorry on the spelling) so give me a bit and i will get them posted. i have done the research on this coral all ready and think i can handle it. i was just wondering if any of y'all have any pointers or thing to look for thart i should know about that i might not have read. thank you for your time.

Sounds like you are in denial to me, there are no excuses worse than laying it on the kid. I use my wife, just bring her along and if it's purple - it's in the tank. heh heh

Looks like a nice score, just give them some room to grow into a ball. Always feed mine at night - when the polyps are out.

I feed mine Cyclopeeze at night

I feed my LPS Frozen Cyclopeeze (spelling?) at night. My candy cane also gets a very tiny tiny tiny bit of shrimp soaked in Zoe is he is behaving (which is used to feed my clown and the anemone).

Love Cany Canes. Med to low flow works best in my experience.

Here is a candy cane frag I got recently

Here is a frag I got recently, it is doing great and is much large under my PC lights than it was under the halide from where it came.

Uh huh, corals for kiddes.

Uh huh, got the coral for the kid. I think that a fantastic thing to do!!

Just wanted to say that I have mine on the side of the reef that has no halide on my tank, so its under VHO lights and actinics. It gets low to med flow, its about half way up the rock in the tank and its thrilled there, growing faster that I ever thought it would. I too feed cyclopleeze, and have started feeding it after the lights are out to give the corals a chance.
