new bulb - iwasaki 175w 15k

It was time to replace one of the two 175w MH bulbs I have over my 75g. After posting and getting some great advice(thanks wiskey!) and consulting data from sanjay's site, I ordered a 15k 175w iwasaki bulb from hellolights.com (excellent service and fast shipping!) All I can say is its literally a night and day difference. The other bulb that it is next to is a 4 month old hamilton 14k 175w. Note, both of these lights are driven off of the same ballast.

I'm just about to do the same thing with my tank with the new XM10,000K bulbs HelloLights just sent me. Question - what did you do to break in the new bulb over the tank - did you use a screen in the way or move the light higher up and then adjust it down gradually?

Oh,.. ya,.. Don't forget to acclimate,.. you just more than doubled the light your coral gets lol.

because of my canopy I cant adjust the height, so im just going to cut down on the photoperiod and gradually get it back up to normal

thats bright! whats the bulb that has the most par? XM or that iwasaki?

for the 175w its the iwasaki, i think for the 250w and maybe the 400w its the xm 10k
