New air driven Skimmer?

I just finished my DIY air driven cc skimmer this morning, hooked it up and it looks good. Pleanty of bubbles - milky looking - but no foam yet. I've heard it could be a while for the skimmer to break in, but any ideas how long I should wait b4 worrying??
