New 75 Gallons Reef Step by Step Project
Hi Everyone,
I am new to the TRT forum, just came over here from Reef Central.
I am planning to setup 75 Gallon reef tank with a new filtration system that I've testing for about a year. I have encounter a lots negative comments from people at Reef Central when the new idea was presented, so before I even start to post anything and waste everyone's time as I've been called at RC, I would like to find out if I am going to receive the same kind of negative comments here like in RC.
Thanks

Thanks for the kind words tims and qwaco I feel like home alreday. Of course, I don't expect anyone to like my idea off the back, as long as we can discuss the issue without name calling. I love pictures too, I will put my expensive DSLR camera to a good use.

When you click on Post Reply a new screen will appear to type your post in. Once you tpye some words scroll down and you will see a button called manage attachments. Click on that then upload your pic. Max pic size is like 117kb i think.

Ok, I have another question. Can I upload picture to the photo gallery and use the [img] code to load the picture instead of file attachment?

Looks good to me......Looks like you have is setup where you can do a waterchange without having to drain your tank by the "backflow" lines. What size pump are you planning on using for this? It almost looks like a closed loop system(CLS) with an added carbon and pH rock in the loop. Looks like a good idea to me.

What you can do is upload to like photobucket then when you are in the post reply mode then click on the option that looks like a mountain it is near the part when you select the redo and undo and font size then copy and paste the URL in that then click ok. Then your picture will appear.

Thanks Tim, I've just singup with photo bucket. I saw your tank pictures you have a yellow watchman goby he looks big, what size is the goby?
The backflow is mostly intended to backflush the pH Rock and carbon once month without empty out the filters. There is going to be a lots debries inside each filter, backflush is the easies way to get them out. I could also use the line to drain the water, but most water change will still be done by siphon in order to remove the dirt and debries off the sand and LR.
I planned to use Little Gaint 4MDQ-SC inline pump, it has the flow of 750gph at 6' head which is what I need for this setup, besides I already has the pump setting somewhere collecting dust might as well use it.

The goby is about 3in long. He isnt to big. I have two of them in my tank. I like little giant pumps! They are a great reliable pump. I use one on my return.
So far i like the idea, any more pics?
