Neptune controller - my temp probe's gone haywire!!

Help! Has anyone else had this problem? My neptune AC junior's probe showed a temp reading of 122 this morning!!! I stuck my hand in and everything feels like normal - fortunately with the Philadelphia heat and humidity and my inadequate cooling methods things aren't going to change rapidly - and I just happen to have a spare probe, but what gives? The probe supplied with the junior is specific to that model, it seems, and can't be calibrated. Has anyone else had this problem?

i have not had a problem with my temp probe. i really do not think that the temp probe is specific to the Neptune unit. that is not their style. i looked on www.aquaticeco.com and they have several probes that use the small connector.

Hmm - I'd better check the documentation again, but the ACII and ACIII seem to be able to use the other probes, but the junior seems to use a special probe (sealed in black rubber, no moving parts and no calibration possible).

on the Neptune site they only list one temp probe for all models. not sure how old your unit is, so maybe it could have been different in the past, but does not seem to be different now.

they only have the 2.5mm phono plugged temp probe listed as a replacement. i am pretty confident that this is a standardized connector for temp probes and any probes with this connector should work on your unit.

They are having a bad run of temp probes. Give Neptune a call and they will get you a new one out Yours is the tenth or so I've read about in the last week or so

And just to add, not that it applies to this problem... But the Ac Jr's temp probe can be calibrated through the set up menu. Using the old ice water as a constant it comes out fairly accurate. I have an old glass termometer that is pretty much dead on, so I use it as a base to make sure all my digital probes read the same-ish
