need to nuke ! possible problem...
redbugs have made a return so i was gonna intercept the tank but here is the potential problem . i have but two shrimp in the tank but one is commensial living inside my large squamy clam . what i fear is if i nuke the tank and the shrimp dies inside the clam i am worried about the reprocoutions . if the shrimp dies in the clam then if the clam can;t or won't expell the carcass i worry the clam will perish and start a real bad turn of events . the first thought i'm sure that will be suggested is to remove the clam but that can't happen as i hate to risk any damage to it while dislodging it . so any thoughts ? do i nuke it at a reduced dosage , wait and do nothing , or just take my chances on dislodging the clam .

If ya gota Nuke, then you want to get it all. Doing a reduced dose, what lived, would be stronger. i would get the shrimp out. If you have to get the clam out to, use a razer blade gently to cut the base,... Have you tried a trap for the shrimp, first.?

the shrimp has never left the confines of the clam , so a trap would not do any good . also i don't believe that the redbugs build up a tolerence to the medication based on dosing amount . if they ingest any of the medication they are done . the problem is getting the meds to each and everyone of them !

pest that reside on the tissue of certain acro corals . they make sps keepers cringe ! think of them as fleas on a dog and unless you kill them they just muliply like crazy until your dog scratches himself raw and is really mad at you for not nuking them .

Ya know, I like that answer. Well, you will loose those shrimp, but you already know that.

Why can't the squammy be removed? If you can remove him, then nuke the tank, just leave the squammy in Q for a few weeks until any bugs on it have died off due to lack of food.
