Need to move Anemone

Can anyone give advice on how to move an Anemone?
This guy moves alot and is now in a bad place - in our discharge tank.
Seems like it will hurt him to move by force. Any suggestions appreciated.

Hello and welcome to TRT Taloo!

Well, there is always the powerhead technique, set a PH blowing on the anemone forcing it to move on it's own, you can set a piece of plastic or something opposite of the PH for it to crawl on to.

You can gently, over 20-30, minutes work a finger underneath the foot and pull it off very slowly, just coaxing it to come off.

Or the easiest just take out the rock it's on and place that next to where you want it to move.

Many more ways to do it, these are what I have done.

Thank you for the welcome Vince!
Unfortunately, this guy is on the acrylic, not a rock, so moving him won't be that easy
Also, he's in a place that makes standing, waiting patiently for 20-30 min not a pleasant option, lol.
I may try the power head trick - jeez the crazy guy - maybe he needs more direct feeding to keep him happy and at home.
Thank you for the advice!

Try using a frozen ice cube. Gently bring it toward the anenomes foot (but don't touch it with it). The coldness might be enough to get the little guy moving a bit.

The MMR club stands for the Macho Male Reef club. The requirements to join include occasional grouchiness, long posts about basically nothing that are useful to no one, and umm..well stuff. Alcohol has been known to be involved in some postings (mostly mine).

The lovely ladies have their own BRW club which is sort of like an auxiliiary though has it's similar merits.

You say something nice and the BMR still gets upset!
Or maybe "merits" was misconstrued. I consider being able to hold your drink a merit! Too bad I can't. Hold it, that is.

I haven't tried it myself, but I've read that you can **carefully** scrape an anemone off of a smooth surface using a credit card.

I personally witnessed a BRW member attempt to hold a drink. An MMR member worked hard on a very nice pico de gallo dip, and all of a sudden it tastes like Frangelica.

Being on the acrylic is actually easier to get off, not as porous and not any little cracks and holes to stick to. Hold an ice cube right on the bottom of the foot on the outside of the tank, it should move once it gets real cold.
