Need to entice a Longnose to eat

This is one of my favorite fish and Ive always wanted one but couldnt during my 15 years with a FO system. Now that I have a reef with great water quality, I can keep anything I want. But when I put this Longnose Butterfly in the MT he was getting beat up by the Copperband. The LFS assured me that mixing butterflys is no problem whatsoever but I guess its kind of hit n miss when it comes to certain fish. Maybe the CBB feels a threat to food supply or is just tired of being the one beat on by the Sailfin and wants to dish some out himself. I dunno.

But I put him in my refugium and he's just not eating what I put in there. I see him grazing on things but he wont even take live brine shrimp. I think Im gonna trade the Sailfin in for something else and reintroduce the Longnose under calmer circumstances. Its really gonna hurt losing that sailfin but he's just too aggressive. I just went into a new LFS about 40 minutes away and they were selling Sailfins his size for $140. Outrageous pricing at that place so I just left without buying a single thing.

Anyway, what can I do to get this Longnose taking food I add instead of depleting my fuge of pods. BTw i also tried Angel/Butterfly formula socked in a couple drops of garlic. No dice.

Not sure if you have a store that sells it locally, but you could try Rod's Food. That is what I feed my tank (yellow tang, solar wrasse, and 2 pink skunk clowns)...and my fish barely give the food a chance to hit the water before they rush in to eat.

Other than that, I am not sure. Good luck.
