Need Suggestions

I need some suggestions in an area that not many have much experience in. I am assisting Bemo this weekend as he is moving to a new place and we need to move the tank as well. Things have gone downhill in a big way in his tank so we have opted to toss all the water and start with a good fresh batch. Our problem has to do with the large amount of baby skunk shrimp in his current tank. the kids are thriving and getting bigger but they are still babies and moving them is going to be a problem. we want to catch them and move them but... we cant use a net and we want to avoid moving any of the old water into the new setup. Plus it is just gonna be a pain to catch them. Any thoughts?

I would say use enough of the old water to keep them from going into shock. How big of a tank is it? Just keep themn in some old water then when ready acclimate them to the new water. Using the old water will reduce stress of the transfer.HTH

Sorry, stats below

90 gal
55 gal sump/refuge
ph 8.1
nitrate/nitrite/amm/phosphate 0
alk/calc unknown

in the middle of a cyno bloom with some hair algae as well
running 2 X 175w venture 14k MH

I want to avoid too much water as i am under the impression that there is a disease issue too. Most LPS just croaked of brown jelly (RIP). He is really struggling with whatever is happening.

Just have a bunch of extra water ready to go, more than you think you need.

Light sandbed. he changed the MH bulbs and then added a white and a blue 6'VHO to the system. then all hell broke loose. the PH dropped into the toilet and everything went out of whack. the only change in forever has been the lighting so it has been a real skull scratcher. many of the corals have suffered but only the frogspawns and torches died off completly from the jelly. the babies don't seem phased by anything so they must be real tough. We know they are baby skunks cause they are now big enought to see a small stripe on the back now. As far as water we have 200 gallons and he will probably go get 10-15 gallons of actual seawater.
