Need some advice for my bristle starfish

I am searching for anyone with some advice for my bristle starfish. We have had him for a few years, I am not sure of his exact age really, but approximately 3 months ago he lost two legs. I checked my salt and it was low, corrected the problem and have stayed on it. But now the other day he lost another leg, which was a good strong leg. He is now down to two legs. I have been told that he would grow back his legs, but I have seen no signs of growth yet. Can someone tell me if this is a death process or if they know anything about it? "Henry" is one of my favorites and I can't stand to see him losing all of his legs. Any information someone can give me would be most appreciated. I am not that advanced in my knowledge of saltwater tanks and have been learning gradually. Thanks.

Ah, I love my brittle, too. That's sad. My linkia is down to two legs right now...I had a fish I brought back to the store that took out my oyster and was going at it on my linkia. Linkia is now recovering but this just happened a few days ago, so I don't expect to see any growth for at least a few days.
