Question

Need snail ID

How about this pretty snail? I've had it for a couple years at least, it hitchhiked in on lr as a pin-head sized snail-ette. Now it is about 1" dia. I kept it in my refugium 'cause I wasn't sure if it was safe with corals. It seems to be a strict algae eatter as far as I've seen. Anyone know what it is?

we have several in our systems. i agree they only seem to feed on algae. someone has ID'd them here before. maybe check the archives.

Thanks Geoff! Guess I can stop worrying and just let him do his thang. Wish I had more like him, he's the best glass cleaner of all the snails I've tried.

i think i have some that are similar to that, but in 3 years, none have gotten much bigger than 1/4 inch.... but yeah, just algae- if they are the same thing.
