Need Refuge Help

i have a 30g tank and i found an old 5g tank out in my garage. can this work for a litle refuge/ and how do i start it . i know nothing at all about these.

Well I asked the same thing on a thread. Whats the main perpose ? Food or filteration ?

don't realy know. i've just noticed alot of people have so i figure might as well try it

I am personaly having it for both. For my manderin scooter and to lower my Nitrates.

same reason i wanted one! then i found out what they are actually for.

really you have three options. do you want it for pod production, do you want it for macroalgaes for nutrient export, or do you want it for both.

imo 5 gallon will work. i see the hang on type fuges, and i belive most of them are 10 gallon and smaller. heck, i;ve seen someones tank somewhere that used an old whisper hang on filter, as a fuge
