Need ideas for hanging lights

I just setup a 30 long tank and I had ordered the Outer Orbit 150hqi hood to light it. Well, I didn't measure anything and now that I have the hood I find out it is too wide and I can't use the feet. The hanging kit was not in the box so they are sending out a kit for me (thanks champion lighting). So now I need to figure out how to hang them. Hanging them from the celing is my last option, wife really dosen't like that idea. I was thinking maybe a shelf above the tank and hang it from that or even something bolted to the back of the stand that they could hang from. If anyone has there's hanging from something other than the ceiling I would love to see some pics.

You could makestands that go on the end of the tank and rest the fixture on that!or send it back and get the right one.

Thanks for the pic Tim. That was one idea I had but I was thinking of using those iron poles that you put hanging baskets on. They had a bunch of different sizes and shapes at the hardware store yesterday. Just not sure it would stick out far enough that the light would be over the tank.

I have to wait until the wife gets back from vacation next week before I do anything. Also have to wait for the hanging kit to see how it works.

I would love to send it back but I don't think any 36" light would work, they are all about the same width I believe. I was thinking it would be skinnier since the one over my 75 is much skinnier, but it doesn't have the power compacts on the sides.

Anyone else have a pic to share?
