My brain ended up dying from what I believe was too much light. The stuff coming from its mouth, I believe is the coral expelling its symbiotic algea which results in bleaching.

All my LPS and even my anemones do this from time to time, but mine never change colors.

I would put him in some shade, get some selcon, soak mysis shrimp in selcon and feed him often for awhile.

Chris

I can't keep those kind of brains in direct light,.. If it were me I would put him back in the shade and feed him,... Mine looked allot worse than that before I figured out this little trick, and he came back around. I'm sure yours will too

yeah, shade and spot-feed. Make sure there is enough flow too. Just enough flow to make sure he's not in stagnant water should be fine.

Mine would not extend it tentacles just before he died... Maybe try to force feed him? That might work, I should have tried it with mine but I just waited too long.

Try a turkey baster puff of mysis first... Something much smaller than a silverside. Mine extends its lil tentacles a few minutes after it smells food in the tank.

Also my open brain looked pretty poopy with torn tissue and algae growing on the skeleton when I first got it. It looks like a champ now.
