need help on fishs eye !

today when i fed the fish i noticed the anthias's eye was popped out ! i have not had any type of disease brake out ever. i also run a u.v. . reminds me of the freshwater disease " pop eye " . the fish is acting normal in every way and even feeding good . any ideas ? this fish is over two years old now and i would hate to lose it ! is it possible it just banged into something causing the swelling and it will go back down ? thanks in advance .

This is a symptom, not a disease. It is usually caused by swelling behind the eye (or in the eye). The swelling may be caused by many factors but is most commonly caused by bacteria.
If unilateral (only one side) the cause may be mechanical injury. Time only may effect a cure. It is difficult to treat, but the most effective procedure seems to be a good environment.

Is the eye still there or is it gone. if it is gone i am sorry to say that the chances are not good. when they lose their eyes it opens the head area to infection. i have not had any fish make it after losing an eye. if he has pop-eye then you need to QT right away

also look to see if you have a lot of micro bubbles in the tank. some fish will adsorb them in to thte skinand they will collect in the eye socket
