need help installing ro/di system

Hi. I'm connie's husband, Scott. I'm installing her purely H20 optima vision series ro/di system. If anyone has experience with this hook up, please help. There's a black tube and a white tube coming out of the ro membrane. Black is for waste, what is the white for, the float valve? Behind the ro membrane there's a series of blue tubes which go to the pressure gage but one tube is not attached to anything. It has a white fitting that says check valve. What is that for & where does it go? This thing didn't come with instructions!!! I'm going to home depot now to replace the sink I broke...ouch! Thanks! Scott

The white should be your filtered water coming out of the membrane. The one tube that is not connected to anything but the first canister should be the supply line(from the sink or water line). But without seeing it I can't tell you for sure.

Pix please...

one line will be coming from your prefilt ers (1st will be a particulate filter, then either a carbon block or carbon-impreganted particulate filter), that goes to where your RO membrne will be, then there will be the presure gauge on the premembrane side as a take-off, thn there will possibly be flush falve to flush the membrne af ter each use. after the "in" source is connected, there should be a waste line and filtrate line from the membrane cartridge, the fltrate line goes to the RO cartridge(s), thn to a float valve if you hve the water going to an ATO setup. See the Spectrapure site for some general setup diagrams for their product, it should help you determine what to do, as MOST of these units are pretty much the same.

I believe it is www.spectrapure.com

After looking at this for awhile, I think the blue tube coming from the pressure gage valve replaces the white one coming out of the RO membrane. Does that seem right?

That's right. That is a break. Sometimes getting teeth pulled at the dentist is a break if Dylan is not around. The kid is great but keeping up with him at our age is exhausting! He doesn't stop! Every 5 minutes it's...can you play something with me? or, lets jump on the trampoline. My legs hurt!

On my unit, the middle canister (the carbon block, I believe) has a tube running out of it that branches into 2 tubes...one going to the pressure gauge valve, and the other going into the RO membrane. HTH, and doesn't confuse you like it is me.
