Skimmers do nothing for nitrates.. husbandry does. Skimmers remove organics that cause nitrate problems. If you plan on a 150 for this setup, then I would suggest the MSX line of skimmers for the budget minder reefer.. specifically the MSX200 minimum and maybe the MSX250.. you can get them at Marine Solutions, they are great to deal with. I fyou can afford the extra change, get skimmer with the Askoll pump
