My Shark Hatched

so for anyone who has ever thought about getting a shark egg but were sceptical after reading all the statistics about them not hatching i thought that i would let people know that they can hatch very healthy (at least it looks healthy) baby shark. mine is a black and white striped bamboo shark that i got from my job back in november. this thing is awesome will have pics when i can get the camara working.

getting them to hatch is easy. it is getting them to feed that can be tough. if the shark is having a hard time finding food, you may have an electrical leak in the tank. i lost a couple that way. they would hatch just find, but would get dissoreinted when trying to hunt food.

the Coral Banded Cat shark will grow to about 40", so think about where to put it as it grows.

if they are reluctant to eat try ghost shrimp, or choped krill.

im going to keep him for about six months to a year and then take him back up to work. my boss has some large tanks and im going to talk to him about us keeping him in on of the sumps because they are about 400 gallons and blue so it would be good for viewing and large enough for him to be comfy. not to mention all the food he would have there. as far as pics and videos that i have they are all on my phone cuz the real camra is batteryless right now. i have not got any vids of him free swiming but i have seen him free swim a couple of times. as far as feeding goes i will try to feed him this weekend and if i cant get him to eat then i will start worrying about that later. they can go for a month after hatching without food befor they start feeding. one of my friends at work got one that hatched on christmas and his started eating brine imediatly.

its been a while since i have updated about the shark. he is doing great and as of now i have only tried ghost shrimp and cod. he loves te shrimp and hates the cod. if anyone is having a hard time getting one of these to eat i have found that it works great to everynight signal that its feeding time some how for example i shut off everything in the tank and about min or two later he is out front and center. as far as the hunting thing goes i give him one or two shrip with a target feeder and the rest just dump and let him have is way with them. it pretty easy to trick them into eating other things by putting them on the target feeder with the shrimp. he figures out its time to eat pretty easy
