My Sandsifting Starfish...

is acting weird. I just seen it climb to the top of the tank. And, it's been cruising around the entire tank today... as in, on some live rock and on top of the sand.
Isn't this unusual for them to do? Is there something wrong with it?
My parameters are all where they should be. Of course, my nitrates are a little high... but, he's been living in my 30 gallon this way for a few months now and has been fine.
He's making me freak out! What's up with this starfish?!?

Could very well be starving after bing in that size tnak for a few months. Sand sifting stars will normally decimate all of the micro fauna in a large tanks sand bed. I would imagine in a 30 gallon it will happen very fast.
