I installed this in the closet of my spare room. incase anyone wanted to know where it was. and yes I am aware that there is a butt print on the wall in the first picture. something a remodeler left as a calling card!
the unit is the Maxima unit from Aquasafe. I got the booster pump because I have low water pressure. the float valve is from Kent marine.
let me know what you think.

Good install. I hope that float valve doesn't malfunction. It's the same one I'm using, and I'm not fully convinced that it's working correctly. Actually thats the same RO I have, except I don't have the DI part. Where is your waste water going? Pick up a TDS meter they're only about 25 bucks and they are great indicators of the performance of the filter. Its about time for me to change my RO membrane I looked at my meter today and its running 11PPM but I also noticed my incomming city water is reading 350PPM now, and it was at 180PPM with the out showing 4PPM

I like to leave a good butt print everywhere I go.

Have you flushed the membrane recently?

I flush it everyday. It makes not differance in the quality of the water, just the flow rate.

I was thinking about taking it out of the housing for a thorough cleaning.

Well done......I still need to figure out what to do for a storage container for my RO/DI unit still. Right now i have been using my 29 gallon fish tank i took down not to long ago. I would like to get at least a 55 gallon drum on wheels incase i need to move it i can.

Also had some problems with my float switch installed just like yours. Tends to leak a little on the outside. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the tub is ROUND, and the bolts (expecting to be on a flat surface) can't be tightened enough.

If you DO experience the same thing...maybe move it down a bit. See where the brute can has that flat part, where the handle is? miight get a tighter seal there!!!

In the mean time, might wanna put a bucket under the float just in case it leaks a bit!

Other than that...GREAT JOB! Looks good!

Caulk it.

Its also got an adjustment for float height. just lower it down till the water doesn't come up to the bulkhead fitting.

Hey, do you have to have a pressure tank for these filters? Mine came with or without... I ordered without. Sorry, hope I didn't hijack..

the pressure tank is if you are using it for drinking water and need a few gals on tap, ie to fill a glass. mine came with one but for the fish tank you do not need it. as for the Kent marine float valve. I used a lot of teflon tape and I have it adjusted to where the water level will not reach the fitting.
also I ordered it with a TDS meter, they were out of stock and will be shipping it this week.
what should the pH of the water be coming out of the RO DI unit? and are you supposed to run a certain amount of water through the unit before you start collecting for the fish tank? let me know thanks.

You should prolly run several gallons through before you keep any. I was getting 400PPM OUT of mine with like 180 IN when I first started it up.

Pure water has a PH of 7.
