My Lion is never full!

I Have a bit of an issue with my Lion, i just bought the young fella a week ago, i feed him every 2nd day.

I've read in books and on the net you should only feed them 2-3 feeders, so that's what i do. But my guy is one hungry fish and just keeps wanting more, i feel guilty so i give him more, i stop at 5 and he is still hanging around the top of the tank waiting for more food.

Everytime I open the lid he hears the sound & straight away rushes up thinking it's more food. What do i do??

I don't want him to grow fast

I don't want to overfeed him but at the same time i feel bad for him.

HELP!

LOL. The fish is just smart, my clown and blackbar chromis do the same thing. Just feed him the amount you were told to, hes fine, fish will just eat until they pretty much explode, ive caught fish before that had 4 fish half their size inside of them and would still chase my bait so its not that hes not ok, its just that he'll take food whenever he can. Dont feed him more than your suppose to and he'll learn that hes not getting anymore

You don't want to keep feeding him!You will over feed him and his skin will actually start to rip around the stomach area!

I agree with the others. Alot of fish will eat whenever there's food around no matter how recently they have eaten. I would really just feed it once every 2 or 3 days. Overfeeding is not only bad for the fish but bad for your tank as your nutrient levels can get out of hand and cause algae problems.

lion fish will eat themselves to death. you need to feed him a couple of times a week and you also need to train him to eat krill, squid and other frozen marine foods. if you only feed him guppies or gold fish he will be missing out on some nutrients that he needs. he comes from the ocean feed him from the ocean. it may take a week of starving him but he will start eating frozen food.

Yes it's a fish thing. My fish will go to the front of my tank for food just if they see me go near their tank, even if they have already eaten. Know whose boss
