I've had my pistol/goby for almost a year and throughout that time I lost a small frag or two and thought I learned my lesson. Well a couple months ago I placed a hammer coral near his cave, not worrying about it because it was anchored to a pretty heavy frag plug. Over a month I notice that he has been smashing the branch with his claw and slowly chipping it away. This morning it finally happened, I woke up to
Pistol Shrimp destruction!! I knew I should of moved the coral, and I thought he would leave the frag alone until I got back home from work, but low and behold, I came home and the frag is no where to be found. So lesson learned, DONT put your
corals near your pistol!
Gobstopper standing gaurd (notice the branch chipped away)
And the end result!
