My Hero the peppermint shrimp! PLus pic of true peppermint!

Ok so I got my peppermint shrimp about 2 hours ago from the LFS for 7 bucks. Not five seconds after the lights go out ol'peppy is going mad ape hungry on my aiptasia pests. He went for the biggest one first. I am so happy today!

Not to sound like a doomsayer but the same thing happened in my tank with a pep. but soon after the shrimp took a liking to other foods more. I started feeding the tank every other day rather than every day but still the pep. did not continue on the aiptasia. I hope this is not the same case for you. Maybe you can keep the food really low while he's still got a taste for those @#$@ anemones. Good luck!!

How many peppermint shrimp would be good for a 2.5 gallon? Currently there are about 30+ aiptaisia, and two mushrooms (plus assorted pods and worms).

All my aiptasia are gone this morning! I have one in an Alife 7 gallon.

Okay, let's expand on this one a bit. I purchased 4 pep's prior to getting one that would eat aptasia. The one thing I noticed about number five was his color, seemed more intense. Perhaps it's a mature pep? Are there look alike's out there?

Either way, I'm happy as happy as a clown in an anenome that he ate all but one (very large) apt. in my tank.
