My Green Bubble Tip Anemone

I've had my green bubble tip anemone for almost 4 months. it initially positioned itself to a rock and used to open up nicely. but after a month and a half it moved to another position and started opening up even bigger and was much more bubbly and was swaying around extra and its been looking really amazing. but recently it has started moving positions to different rocks. It has done this almost 3 times this week and i am wondering if this is normal and what exactly is happening?

it still looks very healthy and looks very happy and has not shown any signs of stress other than this issue of it moving around. can anyone shed any light on this matter?

also, i've has some sponge growth in my tank that grew quite big with about 4 tentacles. only today i noticed that 3 of the tentacles have gone. what could have happened to them?

any help would be very much appreciated.

thanks

Do you feed it? Have a clown hosting? I've heard once bubble tips feel like they have enough flow, light and food, they'll stay put.

I have a rose BTA that has not moved for almost four years and another that been on the same rock for at least a year. BTA's like to have their backside covered and even shaded, with lots of flow and good light. They seem to like surfaces that are more smooth as opposed to jagged rock. Once they find a spot they like, they tend to stay put. I would let it wander until it finds a place that suits it. It is a good idea to cover the intakes of power heads while its on the move.

mine found a rock with a hole about 6" thru it and it settled there immediately and hasn't moved since...maybe you could look for a piece of rock like that. I think they do like being secured and covered so they are happy with a hole to attach into. looking at it in the tank you can't really even tell its in a hole
