My first salt water fish.....ain't he great!

When I brought him(or is it a her) home yesterday he was really stressed out. He had turned to a dark brown color which is apparently what foxface rabbitfish do when they are stressed. I think he was in shock for a while because he just stayed in what spot and wasn't really moving around or exploring at all. I left the lights off all night and day today and they came on automatically at about 4 this afternoon. When they came on he was all yellow again and swimming around the aquarium seemingly very comfortable. He was even eating the hair algae that I have growing on the rocks. Hopefully I will be successful with this first fishy addition to the tank.

Funny funny. Actually I have been stuck by a hard head(I'm not sure if that is their real name but they are a type of catfish with a poisonous spine on their back. I had just caught him in galveston tx and the dang thing managed to twist and spear me. The worst part is that he wasn't satisfied with just sticking me. Then he had to wriggle around and dig it in even deeper. I will never forget how much that hurt. I was a little kid at the time.

Here he is laying waste to a small patch of algae that has been bugging the heck out of me.

venomous. But I have never had an issue with my rabbitfish trying to bite me. Although, I will say this, he is the only fish in the big tank that I refuse to hand feed. My huge naso tang could definitley give me stitches but that doesnt bother me, it is the rabbitfish that worries me.

I was in my LFS this weekend and a lady was buying one of those. They look much better in the tank than in the bag.

Are they a friendly tank mate?
