My display tank has ich best u.v.????

Hello,
Well my main tank has ick I think it got in my system by me moving an anemone from my 37gal to an 80. My 37gal had ick a while back but I havent seen any sighns of it lately and I am braking my 37 down and turning it into a fish only so I moved my remaining corals into my 80gal. I guess I made a huge mistake. I am so stressed out over this and I am not sure what to do but I want to take a course of action that is a permanant solution. I picked up some kent garlic extreme from my lfs and that is all I have right now. I have heard that a u.v. is a permenant solution to ich. I do not have a quarintine large enough to house the fish that I have. So a quarintine is not really an option. Also is there a treatment you would recomend in conjuction with a u.v. like possibly chem-maraine? Thank you so much in advance for all your help!!!

Is your main system the 80gal? That's what you want a UV for right?

I would look into Emperor UV's and get at least a 40w.

To expand on Jerel's suggestion, I'd look for the cause of the outbreak and fix that. Moving livestock from one tank to the other is a likely cause this time, but if you're having ongoing problems with it, examine your water parameters, temperature, and other stressors and see if you can correct the cause, rather than cure the problem after the fact.

Thank you spanky and jennm. Yes, my main tank is the 80gal and thats what I am looking for the u.v. for. The ongoing problem was in my 37gal it started after adding an infected fish but the fish only showed sighns of it for maybe a week or 2 and I havnt seen any real sighns of it in the last month. So I fugered it was safe to start moving stuff but I guess I was wrong. All my fish in the 80gal were fine until I moved my reamaning livestock from my 37gal 2 nights ago. Spanky any thoughts on this uv unit? http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_...ma.asp?CartId=

You know, truthfully, I keep as good a water quality as anyone can. Feed as good as anyone can, and still get ich, brooke, you name it. There's no way I'm going to quarantine every single thing that goes in this house tank - and - every single thing that goes in there carries with it the possibility of bringing a parasite with it.

I don't know a thing about that UV. I don't like the way it looks though. I use Emperor, and that's the industry standard.
