My Clown Died, Any Ideas?

I got an Ocellaris Clownfish and he ate good and seemed to be doing well.

A few days ago I saw a red spot in the white stripe near his head and though maybe it bumped into a rock or something (he seemed a bit skittish from the start).

Yesterday he was acting sluggish, and saw stringy poo. I noticed more red spots (only on the white band by its head) and a couple of possible ICK spots.

So I put him in a separate tank with a SG of 1.010 and I put some ICK (Aquarium Products Quick Cure) medicine in as per directions 1 drop per gal.

Last night he was acting distressed so I raised the SG to 1.02 seemed to be doing great.

Then today he died

I’d like to figure out what he had as it did not seem like ICK but I don’t know.

Did I mess him up by using hypo salinity (low SG)?

Did the Medicine do him in???

This is a fairly new 75 gal tank that was started with live rock & live sand.

SG - 1.024
Temp - 80F
Ammonia – 0
Nitrite – 0
Nitrate – 0

Currently I have in the tank:

18 hermit Crabs
3 Mithrax Crabs
30 Snails (6 Nassarius, Trochus, 12 Astraea)
1 Sea Urchin
1 Scooter Blenny

All of them are doing great.

Thank you.
