My Calcium >500 only adding Kalk?

The test kit is SeaTest, and it used to be in upper 400's. System is 6 mo old. My evaporation is 1.5 to 1.75 gal/day. All is replaced with kalk mixed at 2 teasp/gal. The tank has one zenia, torch coral and coupl small pcs of other stoney coral. Should I back off the kalk?
Thanks, Mike

Hey mike, if you have had 400 readings in the past and didnt change the chemistry much I would suspect those numbers, Kalk usuall y is OK at maintaining level but not at raising it(except pH)Then again it looks like you have a low bio load in the tank that could explain it, try topping of with straight RO for afew days and see what happens

i used kalk for a few years and never had calcium up over 380ppm. KH was 3.5
Kit is most likely wrong.
