My anemone just had a REALLY bad day
So..... this morning i took the sump/fuge out of my 80 to do some tweaking. I thought i would be done in a couple of hours but you know how that goes. So i hook up this old Tetratec filter with no foam or bags in it, i just wanted to get some oxygen going in the water. I leave for a few hours and when i got back i noticed this odd flourescent blue worm looking thing on this rock. I grab some forceps and pick it up. Just about the time I grabbed it i looked at the hang-on filter in horror. My fairly large anemone appears to be nothing more than a foot stretched to the point of ripping slightly from the rock he had been on to to the filter intake on that tetratec. Probably 6-7 inch stretch and there are not any tentacles showing. They are all buried in the impeller out of sight or floating around the tank now that i look closer.
His clown is of course swimming around frantically and he is glaring at me like i just intentionally burned his house down.
Believe it or not, i think hes going to be ok. Needless to say, hes not looking all that great, but i am amazed that he isnt more tattered than he is. Im thinking that he had only been sucked in their for a few moments and it was lucky i got home when i did.
I took pics, but i will wait to make sure he is ok so i dont post a picture of an animal being butchered.

Sorry to hear about your anemone... It's amazing how attached we become to these creatures. I hope he's ok. Keep us informed, ok?

I must say it is GOOD luck. He is fine. Tattered, but fine. Ill post some pics of the whole thing later.
Its amazing sometimes what DOESNT kill stuff.
Put this guy in a blender today....and he lives. Move something else to where the flow or light is a little wrong and it will die on you.
