My 110G FLAT BACK HEX BUILD

I dont know if it is really considered a build log but its a new tank and we all like new tanks. Anyways onwards to the tank i set it up Thursday. I am running a oceanic sump QO3000 return pump and T5's for lighting. The tank is going to be a mixed reef very few sps. I still have to get a skimmer i could use yalls input on what skimmer to get i was thinking of going with DAS EX1 or EX2 im not sure though. I also need more lights i have two Actinic(blue) t5's now but i need more i just dont know what bulb configuration to do im only going to do 4 bulbs total maybe 6 on down the road but 4 for now i could use some help with what bulbs to use. Anyways that is enough babbling for now on with the PICS please give me your comments and ideas i would love to here them.

thanks,
Nathan

Looks good so far. What wattage are the T5 bulbs you are using? Are you retrofitting them into the canopy or did you by a fixture?

Good looking setup so far. I like the rockscaping.

4 T5 bulbs may be a little on the low side for a 110 gallon. And thats with the assumption that they are 48" ers. I had 324 watts over my 75 and it looked really good and now have 624 over my 180. Just a thought.

I'm using retros for the lighting they are 54watt bulbs. Right now i have two actinics still have to get some more. Yes im going to run a skimmer i just dont know what one yet im thinking about a DAS EX1 or EX2 not sure yet. No i have not done any test yet its only been up for two days. I think that answers all the questions i know the 4bulb is on the low side but im not going for SPS so i think i should be fine i hope. LOL thanks for the comments and suggestions its exactly what i was looking for keepem coming.

thanks,
Nathan

The good thing about a retro is that you can always add more later if you feel like you need it.

Sorry I don't know anything about the skimmer you are considering.

Beautiful tank!

I put 4 light fixtures over the 360 and it's not as bright as I would like. I do have some mushrooms growing in that tank though, and they're looking pretty good.

Again thanks all for replying and at least showing interest i didn't get any replys on any other boards i posted on. Now i know were to post from now on THE REEF TANK is my home LOL
