Last week my power went out for about 8 hours. I put a battery opperated airpump in it and everything lived. all the finsh inverts everything. but now my mushrooms that used to expand huge are only expanding about 1/4 of the size the used too. I did a 25% water change the next day and all the water params are normal. amonia 0 nitrite0 nitrate 20 ph 8.2 etc. any ideas anyone???

i have given up trying to figure shrooms out. just about everything will annoy them and they will stop expanding for some time. i just do not worry about it, if the rest of the tank is fine. they eventually seem to come around again.

I was going to ask this very question myself tonight... I didn't have a power outtage but the last 2 days my 2 shrooms have not expanded. What causes this and should I do anything?

thanks,
Jenni

thanks y'all

Guess I'll just keep a close watch on things and hope for the best. I'm pretty new to the reef hobby so I haven't had any experience with all this before.
