Mushroom pic


Does this look like Actinodiscus cardinalis ? I'm not sure of the species of this.

Looks like actinodiscus herpe-itis!! I love shrooms myself and that looks like one happy shroom! I like the hints of purple in it too.

A weird/interesting thing happened the other day... I had some ricordia and a piece of the rock it was attached to broke off. The loose piece of rock stretched the ricordia about 16 inches off the original rock down to the sand, took 4-5 days. Got home last night and it had broke off. Now, instead of one 3" ricordia, I have 2 1.5" ricordia. Split the mouth right in half!! Just thought I would share.

Hey Sand Reef FWIW mushroom, i.e. actinidiscus, discosoma etc are the least studied and hardest ID. One scientist is specializing in them in a major way and hopefully ith DNA testing it will help ID them specifically, but at this point common names are as good a guess as any
