MSX HOT 1 Protein Skimmer

http://www.marinesolutionsinc.com/ca...be38212131c6a2

I was doing some research, or at least trying to and ran across this thing. I can't find any real information using google about this thing. Anybody know anybody that has one of these or if they even work well. It is a MSX product so I would guess that it would be of good quality. I just can't find any good solid data on the thing like what it will support (tank size and load) and such.

They look real nice but can't find anything about them actually working lol. The octopus skimmers are about $150 less as well.

We should get our own forum so we can just make new threads and respond to each other lol.

yea no joke, I was looking at the octopus skimmers and found some rated for 90g and another rated for up to 135g and like I said they are a lot cheaper and just as reputable as well.

I am thinking about talking myself out of the sump altogether. My wife and I were discussing the chances of it overflowing or something malfunctioning and flooding the room so I started looking at the HOB skimmers.

Hopefully I can get some feedback on some decent HOB's cause I think that is the route I am going to go and just use the 20 gallon for my frag tank.

Octo is what I am thinking as well now. I shot my wife a email and she approved so I will probably go that route. It is finally starting to come together. I am starting to get so excited. Now I need some quality lights and I am thinking I am just going to go with those T5 HO bulbs. Can't decide between buying a already made up 4 bulb system or trying to do the retrofit kit and squeeze 6 of them together. I think with my coral selections as of today the 4 bulbs will be fine.

yes you will prob be ok with the 4 bulb..,make sure it has indivisual reflectors(cant stress that enough LOL)...your in a 90 gallon right?if so i would recommend higher wattage than 4x24 watt for the height of your tank..good luck-drew
