I've owned two of each of those brands and like them both. The euro is as quiet as they come and as simple to use as well. The mrc is more tunable though and can pull more out for your dollar if you're willing to learn to use it correctly.

I would say that the euroreef is a very nice skimmer, and probably one of the best available. But the skimmers from MRC are also very top quality! I think that the euroreef skimmers run more efficiently, i.e. use less electricity. So good luck with your decision.

I have a MR3 and I'm very pleased with it. Great product and very reasonably priced.

I have had both and recommend the ER if you don't want to have to play with it to get it to skim. I got too frustrated with my Myreefs and replaced them with EuroReefs. JME

I have replaced all my old skimmers (including a Euroreef that was beginning to cloud) with MRC skimmers. I like the tunability of the MRC skimmers, and I have yet to have issues with any of them. Most bang for the bux as well. They work well as either in sump or remote units.

Well the only reason i went for the EuroReef is i dont know how to do plumbing.................lol............so i wanted something i could just stick in the sump and start working...............and that is what i did..............wowwwww some of the yuk stuff the first week...and since then..........i have to throw it out once a week and sometimes twice. My red slime that i have had problems with for 2 years is gone now.............knock on wood.........

They aren't that bad considering they include the pump. Also, the ES series are cheaper. This place has blemished models as well. http://www.h2otropicals.com/
