Moving Nightmare!!!!!

Hi Everyone!!
Its great to be back after a week off line. Well the move was horrifying!!
It was like I hired the three stooges for movers and the 2 blind mice for the tank transfer.
The movers damaged several pieces of furniture and broke several wall hangings. I knocked a cpl of hundred dollars off the bill but found more damaged items the next day so I called and complained. I dont want any money back I just want them to do better for the next person.
The tank was even worse!!! The guy showed up 2 hrs late and never called to tell me he would be late so I had to sit and wait when I had a million things to do. I didn't say anything to him for being late I just let it go at that point. Once he was there I went over everything with him one more time. The corals are to be bagged individually as well as the fish. The tank should be leveled and all the equipment should be cleaned. I would give him 450 up front and the other 550 when he was finished. I also explained I planned to tip the two of them 50 bucks each.
So he gets started at 1130 and around 6 he arrives at the new apt with the tank. I can see all the corals nicely packed but couldn't see the fish. I asked his friend where the fish were and he pointed to a 5 gallon bucked. I walked over and there were my fish all 12 of them on their sides in a bucket. Needless to say I went crazy! Long story short all my fish but 4 died. I had no Idea you could curse full sentences but I did. I knocked 200 off his bill and never tipped him.
The surviving fish are one hippo one yellow tang one royal gramie one bullet goby. Gone are the 2 clowns Bonnie and Clyde the gay cleaner wrasse I had him for 4 yrs the two fire gobies my coral beauty and the little clown goby.
After chewing him out I felt so bad about my fish suffering a slow death all I could do was cry. All of my corals made it and they look very happy. My hippo has ick but is eating garlic the other fish are happy. My tank looks sooo empty with all my fish gone.
I hope all of you had a better week than me.
Having said that I am happy to be back and once the hippo is better I will start restocking my tank.
Patrick

What a nightmare, Patrick. Wailing buckets of tears is the right response to that!

Sorry you had such a bad time with the move and losing your fish, Patrick.

At least it's over and you can get settled in your new place.

So sorry Patrick...I hope you send their boss a nice letter to let him know how much you appreciate their service. Maybe you could say something to the effect of "if you were moving 12 dogs would you just put them all in one small kennel? and if you killed 8 of them what would be next course of action..." Poor fishies!! Again...so sorry, makes me never want to move.

BTW...he was luck you only knocked $200 off his bill, your fish alone (not even counting the sentimental value) were worth that...

I am sorry to hear about your losses and damaged furniture Patrick; moving is never any fun when things go well let alone when things like that happen. I hope your next few weeks go better while you get settled into your new place
