Well, its been a few years, several designs and even a location change. BUT, the 150 is finally about to see some water:bigeek:.
I'm starting a new thread so that all the picture nuts don't have to sift through 20 some odd pages of jabbering by myself and a few others!
So here is what I have:
150 gallon display
Two 55 gallon tanks in the garage (one sump and pone water change tank)
CR-2 calcium reactor
Two 250 watt MH with Lumenarc III reflectors.
Oceans Motions squirt for return.
Reeflo Barracuda pushing a CLS
The tank is plumbed through the wall to the garage. Water Changes will be as close to effortlessly a possible. No hauling water, just a few valves to turn.
I did crack the 55 gallon water change tank but being that I designed this leg o the plumbing to be by-passable, here is no problem with starting the wet test without it until I replace it.
Oh, and the system is ran from two 20 amp dedicated circuits provided by my uber talented wife and the sub panel she ran in the garage! For now everything is plugged straight into an outlet. I will soon be running a Reef Keeper II to simplify the whole thing.
Pictures in just a few minutes!!!!
Today I will be testing the water change/chiller loop and the skimmer loop as well as doing a plumbing Modification the the CLS. Tommorow will hopefully be a full wet test.
Just got back fom dinner with the In Laws. Going to put water in the sump and test the chiller leg of the plumbing and the skimmer leg. Wish me luck.....
There is water in the sump and the chiller loop is running as I post this. It had one drip and that was fixed with a turn on a true union ball valve. Thats the good news.
The skimmer loop has two leaks. One is at the gate valve where it comes out of the skimer. Easy fix as it looks like I didnt put fresh teflon on the threads.
The second leak isnt so good. Its on the beckett injector on the top flange where the schedule 80 elbow is fitted inot the flange. This is the new beckett that has never been used. Ill call on that in the morning.
Also there is more noise than I had expcted in the house. Thats an issue that has to be fixed. I am going to make some changes in the morning also to that problem.
So thats where I am at the moment. At a standstill till the morning. I am going to fill the tank tomorrow and test the return and CLS.
Just found out that the bulkhead on the skimmerbox is loose and wont tighten. It has sat for a couple of years. I cant get the bulkhead loosened up more than it is and it wont get tighter. The 1 1/2" elbow inside is glued or just stuck.
Got off of the phone with MRC and they are shipping the part for the beckett today. Im going to get the old bulkhead out of the skimmer box with a Dremmel otherwise I would have to ship the box to them and Im not that patient. So that issue is addressed.
I soft plumbed the intaks for each pump and found a pipe that was touching another transfering vibration and noise. Im going to have to make a better pad for thepumps to sit on also.
ok that what i was thinking but didnt know what that tank was for. is it a frag tank?
