More Water Flow Questions

What kind of options do I have to creat a waterflow system with a sump?

Could I still use a Closed Loop System?

What is better.

Thanks

Mike

See Geoff's answer here: http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/sh...t=60028&page=2 (post 33).

why do you want to use the sump? If you don't want to drill, you can still go over the back.

A CLS is better, IMO. but I'd leave the sump out of it.

check here for what I'm talking about:

morning Mike,

think of a sump as just an extention of the main display.. your just adding water volume to everything. so you can do a CLS with little or no problem. it does not tie in to the sump at all.
yes a sump does have one or two returns to the main tank, but everything is based on the overflow intake. so you are kinda fixed withthat.
using a CLS you can basically push as much or little as you want. and you get rid of seen all the various power heads hanging in the tank
