Moorish Idol

I saw one at the LFS today. What a beautiful fish. I was surprised and asked to see him eat. He ate frozen mysis shrimp immediately. I asked the guy why they would sell a fish that had such a dismal survival rate and he said, surprised, that they had never had any problems with them. What's the deal? At $64, it's a bit much for me, especially given the fact that most people I have heard say they arte impossible to keep in a reef tank.

I feel sorry for it. They have this really depressed look, just like in Nemo.

I understand what your saying. But if you buy it, they will just get another. Unfortunately, it may take several expensive deaths before they figure it out this isn't a good fish to try to sell.

Unfortunately my lfs likes to keep these fish and sweetlips, anyone who looks up sweetlips will quickly figure out that even the most advanced amongst may not have the room for such a fish, but he has one in the tank every week and multiples every week of the Moorish Idols...
