Montipora Capricornis

I love the plating effect from these guys. What are the requirements? Placment? I heard they are hard to get?

they are easy to get actually most people sell them in frags because they are so fragile to sell big....

ther placement is mid to upper part of the tank high flow and high lighting...

foster & smith sell them in frags....around $30.00 which is kinda high but they offer a 14 day guarantee.. I bought a orange monti cap 3 months ago and it has doubled in size....

I think I paid $40 at an LFS for a frag but it did grow fast. LOTS of light or it'll lose it's color.

Oh, BTW everybody usually starts with the orange, but the green(with purple rim) looks AWESOME under the actinics!

yep, they can take a bit to get going, but once they get locked down they will take off growing. it is real important that they have lots of flow. any detritus that is allowed to build up on the plates will kill that area.

G~
AS I GO FLYING ACROSS THE ROOM TO ADJUST FLOW PATHS !!!

I noticed this a day or so ago and worried about it. Put it in front of a PH to blast off the detritus off. Also adjusted the flow so it is more on that area on both sides. Thanks for the tip G !
