molting shrimp
i recently added 2 peppermint shrimp to my tank a couple of weeks ago. is it normal for shrimp to molt more then once in a short time. same with my hermits i keep finding exoskeleton all over the tank.
some times i find the shrimp with one of the hermits before he can get back in to his shell.

It happends because you have good water with the right chemicals to cause them to molt.

just FYI, wrong water conditions can cause molting as well. Shrimp will bind up chemicals like Iodine that are in too high of concentrations, then shed to rid themselves of it. I am not saying that is what happened, just letting you know that is a possibility as well.

Hopefully it is nothing to worry about since you are just doing water changes.

Some LFS may not carry it as it is not a test kit that many people ask for.
Where are you going to post a picture of your new monti?

I always wondered how they shed the antenna's as well. the antenna is so thin to begin with and yet they can afford to shed it with room for a new one inside!

No, you would have to be dosing something to get high iodine
