Mogul socket wiring question?

I am trying to replace my mogul socket on my metal halide light with a new one. I noticed the mogul sockets for sale have a black and a white wire coming out of them, however my ballast has a black, a white, and a green wire going to the old socket. Any idea what I am supposed to do with the green one when I get the new socket?

Its the ground wire, attach it to the reflector.

You can use a ringed wire fitting (crimpable) and a self-tapping sheet metal screw (stainless) to attach the green wire to the reflector. If the reflector is not attached to the mogul bracket at the base with metal screws or tack-welded to the bracket, use a bridge of green grounding wire to attach the base bracket to the reflector, and the reflector to the green ground.
