Modified CPR bakpac to refugium--PICs

Hiya, I made a 24" hang on the back refugium and conected it straight to my CPR backpack skimmer, so it uses the same pwr head (maxijet 1200) for the entire flow.

I drilled hole on the side of the backpack and placed a bulkhead to spill into the fuge. It then drains into the main tank on the other end.

Its been going for a couple weeks now and I placed 4 inches of livesand, some rubble and blade leaf macro.

What do you guys think?

Do you see any problems with this design?

That's interesting .....sorry I'm no good on plumbing, so I can't comment on design. Is the power head outside of the water?

Nice work, seems like it would work just fine.

that is how my whole system is run. i have on pump powering the entire filter system.

you might run into problems with water height in the skimmer if that return pipe is upwards sloping. could throw off the skimmer.

Thanks for the comments.=) The powerhead is in the same place...and in the water. The protruding pipe thats is just hanging there is the old outlet of the skimmer. I was going to plug it up, but I left it there at that angle in case an overflow occurs. In that case, the water will rise, and enter the outlet and spill into the tank before it reaches the top level of the skimmer. The return pipe for the entire system is on the left side of the refugium. Its a bulkhead thats slightly lower than the spill over from the skimmer into the fuge, so it just "falls" into the main tank.
