Can I mix a maroon clown and a percula in a 46g bow front tank? And does anyone know the name of the fish that has a pink back and a yellow belly? looks like a member of the wrass family?

I added 2 false perculas to my 180 with 2 gold striped maroons in it. I eventually had to separate the false perculas from the GSMs because of their aggression towards the newer clowns. So id agree with everyone saying noway.
In fact, i tried rearranging rocks and separating and reintroducing the clowns at different times, and nothing worked. My female gsm would chase the other clowns all the way around the tank all day long.
You can mix maroon and percula. It is not easy!!!!! It can even be very difficult to pair a maroon with another maroon. They are just very picky fish. If they don't like another fish they simply kill it. If they don't like the way you arrange the tank, they rearrange it. You can pair maroon with other species, but just be prepared to separate them if things go bad. You would also need to start with young fish.
When clownfish mature and pair up, they stake out a territory. They will not tolerate another pair in their territory. Two females can not be housed together. Especially in a small tank. I wish you could mix pairs in the same tank. It would make life alot easier on me. I have 5 pair of clowns and have to keep them is separate tanks.

I tried adding 2 mated orange skunk clowns with 2, non-mated oscellaris in a 55G... didn't work out. The skunks who were older kept taking over whatever the oscellaris clowns were hosting to and harassing them. So I set them each up with hairy mushrooms which both had hosted to in the past in separate sides of the tank with a major rock barrier between. Needless to say the Westside skunk clowns kept crossing over to do some swim by nippings at the Eastsiders. Eventually the oscellaris clowns did start to give it back to the skunks which was really like a species war without any foreseeable stalemate.
No serious damage was ever done to any of the fish, but they all were stressed out until I started up a new tank for the offending skunks. I don't think that clown species can mix.

Well said EC. My Gold Stripe Maroon has killed plenty of other fish already. I also think she likes to move new frags around in the tank just to tick me off. The only fish that she does not harass too much is the little male that is in there with her.
That hybrid fish is pretty interesting looking as well. Too bad they say it most likely will not be able to reproduce though. I think it might be nice to have the looks of a Maroon with the personality of an Ocellaris, of course that is assuming you are lucky enough to get that in the mix.
