missing clownfish - FOUND!

On Thursday of last week I added a new clownfish, about 1 inch in length, to my tank. Friday morning, and every day since, he is no where to be found, even at feeding time. I've checked the overflow, the powerhead intakes, and as much rock as I can. Is he gone forever, or just hiding?

Current occupants: 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 fire shrimp, blue leg hermits, nassarius snails, cerith snails, sand sifting starfish, royal gramma

ph 8.2
temp 78-80
amm 0
ite 0
ate 10
These readings are the same the day before I added him and yesterday.

I found "momo," as my 18 month old named him. As I was cleaning my sump last night, when I reached in to remove the filter from my pump, I noticed a little fella dart away. That little fella has obviously been living in my sump for almost a week now - it's only a 10 gal with a skimmer, heater, and return pump - so I can't believe he didn't get sucked into something, much less survive the trip through the overflow and down the tube.

I can't believe I never saw him, I searched with a flashlight three or four times just KNOWING he was down there and never saw him.

Jenna was really excited to see "Momo" this morning! YEA!

glad to hear you found him..

my green chromis were like lemmings, they used to quite often take a trip to the overflow. but, at the time i was using an external with a stockman pipe, so they would always be stuck in the overflow. this was a major pain, because in order to get them out, i had to shut down all the pumps, break down the overflow and pour them back into the tank.

momo--- 18 month old pronunciation of nemo?

I guess "momo" is how she is saying Nemo...we have the movie. I didn't really want to use the same name, but I think the situation is out of my hands. As soon as she saw him the first time, that's what she started shouting - "momo, momo" and she's never used that word before....it's pretty cute.

I think I'm going to add a durso standpipe to my overflow. It's a little loud anyway, and maybe it will catch "momo" if he decides to take another trip (or anyone else for that matter).
