Mirc Connection
OK....The first time I tried to connect a couple of months ago I got right on. Now when ever I try and connect I get "connection attempt timed out"
Here are the setting I use:  and  so whats wrong with this picture ![[jester]](graemlins/jester.gif) JJ

I think the problem is using ircstorm in the first box, as I recall thats an old one that wont work, try looking for random ircserver, I use the australian server and it usually works fine. I will go into irc chat so if you are around change it to that and see if it gets you in

It appears to be set up as the IRC Chat instructions describe but still no connect. The channel page looks like:  but still no go..... Arrrghhh.....

I use Random IRCStorm server. this is what I have when I am in the edit screen:
under discription it says Random IRCStorm server under IRC server it says webserve.nc.us.xnet.org under port it says 6667

I had problems for the longest time trying to get on. Then I realized I left my firewall on... My advice would be to check things that could be interfering with the connection. Good luck |

Hmmmm I am in now with Jon and Sand reefer. I quit using irc storm and went to random xnet thru Oz server

Right now it shows that I'm in the #thereeftank but I'm the only one in. I clicked on Webnet: random server and imidiatly got in. To try some of the other options for edit is says name is already used but doe snot show up on any of the servers?>? duhhhhh...

Yup...been surfing other channels on other servers, just can't seem to get into the one listed for the reef tank..?? When I join the #thereeftank channel it shows me as the only one there. Oh well....Jan calls....nuff fun for tonight.

JJ. I've never seen that dialog box before...maybe you are doing too much!
when you get on the xnet server a box should pop up with a bunch of channel names on it. At the top you can type in #thereeftank to join that channel.
When is that channel dialog box above showing up??
